Businessman Imprisoned for 18 Months in Wage Fraud Case Involving 208 Cases

A business owner in the courier and vehicle services sector has been sentenced to one year and six months imprisonment for wage fraud involving 208 cases. The business owner, who runs 'Best FC GmbH', underreported working hours and misappropriated wages, resulting in a loss of over 106,000 euros to contribution collection agencies over five years.

The business owner falsified records, claiming daytime working hours were night shifts to pay out wage components as tax- and contribution-free night shift allowances. This led to a total of 25 employees being underpaid for their travel time to loading points, loading times, and return travel time. Many employees were unaware of the underpayment as they were paid on a monthly net wage basis.

The Landshut court found the business owner guilty of withholding and misappropriating wages. The imprisonment was suspended on probation, and the verdict is final.

The business owner's actions have resulted in a significant financial loss to the affected employees and contribution collection agencies. The court's decision sends a clear message that such wage fraud will not be tolerated.
