Bus rehabilitation for 10 vehicles by Complete Coach Works for SunLine Transit Agency underway.
SunLine Transit Agency is investing in clean transportation with the refurbishment of 10 of its 2020 New Flyer XN40 buses, carried out by Complete Coach Works (CCW). This project is part of SunLine's commitment to maintaining a high-performance, sustainable fleet.
CCW's Regional Sales Representative, James Carson, expressed his honour at supporting SunLine in this endeavour. The refurbishment will take place at CCW's Riverside, Calif. facility.
The refurbishment project encompasses both cosmetic restoration and mechanical refurbishment. Interior and exterior upgrades will be carried out, involving new seats, flooring, and modesty panels, as well as full repainting and decal reapplication using agency-approved paint samples and graphics.
Mechanical overhauls will include replacing key systems such as power steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, electrical, exhaust, and ADA accessibility equipment. Each bus will receive new Cummins L9N ReCon compressed natural gas engines and rebuilt ZF transmissions.
Safety enhancements will be implemented, including updates to fire suppression and gas detection systems. The buses will also receive modern electrical and electronic upgrades, such as LED lighting and updated power systems.
CCW is committed to restoring the buses to peak operational condition, ensuring they continue to serve efficiently and effectively. After the refurbishment, the buses will undergo a detailed interior and exterior vehicle cleaning prior to their return to SunLine's fleet.
The refurbished buses will meet current performance, safety, and appearance standards, ready to serve riders across the Coachella Valley. CCW considers this investment in the buses as an important one, aiming to extend their life and contribute to SunLine's sustainable and high-performance fleet.
