Building Initiation at "Neulichterfelde" Residential Development: Commencement slated for early 2023
The Groth Group, a prominent investor, has made substantial progress in the development of the 'Neulichterfelde' project, a new residential neighborhood in Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Berlin. The project aims to provide housing for up to 6,000 people, rethink urban life, and include a climate-neutral local energy supply and low-emission mobility options.
The project, which envisions the construction of around 2,000 apartments, has taken a significant step forward with the signing of an urban development supplementary contract. This contract, initiated by the Berlin Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing, paves the way for the construction of approximately 2,500 apartments at the Lichterfelde Süd S-Bahn station.
The Groth Group is confident that the first houses of the new city quarter can be built following the successful completion of the four-year lead time for the project. However, it's important to note that the original construction schedule has been delayed, with construction now scheduled to begin at an undisclosed future date.
To keep residents and future residents informed about the project, the Groth Group plans to set up an information pavilion on the construction site.
The investor expects to apply for a building permit for the first section at the beginning of next year. Until then, citizens can view the draft of the building plan at the Zehlendorf town hall, Kirchstraße 1-3, Building E, 2nd Floor, Room E218, or online via mein.berlin.de until September 16, 2022. Viewing hours are Monday to Wednesday from 8:30 to 16:30, Thursday from 8:30 to 18:00, Friday from 8:30 to 15:00, and by individual appointment.
Further images of the project can be found online, and comments and statements regarding the project can be submitted during this period. After the comments are weighed, the final procedural steps will follow.
For those interested in staying updated on the project, it's worth noting that the draft of the building plan is currently on display at the Zehlendorf town hall. The project, with its ambitious goals of sustainable living and community development, promises to be a significant addition to the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.
