Brazilian Esports organization, Esportes Gaming Brasil, appoints a new Executive Director
Hugo Baungartner, a seasoned professional with over 28 years of experience in the technology and gaming sectors, has been appointed as the Executive Director of Institutional Relations and Strategic Partnerships at Esportes Gaming Brasil. In this role, Baungartner will be responsible for strengthening institutional engagement and driving the expansion of the company in Brazil.
Esportes Gaming Brasil, a group consisting of Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, operates under the licensing regime of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF) and has been actively implementing responsible gambling initiatives. Baungartner's appointment is aimed at supporting the expansion of Esportes Gaming Brasil’s brand and strengthening its institutional connections, contributing to the company’s focus on governance, compliance, and the maturation of the betting sector in Brazil.
Baungartner's responsibilities include liaising with various institutions such as the SPA/MF, the Federal Revenue Service, the Central Bank, COAF, certification bodies, and accredited laboratories. He will also oversee the company’s strategic partnerships and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) activities. Moreover, he will prepare the company for developments in the regulatory landscape and structure new projects with full legal and regulatory compliance.

Baungartner previously held leadership roles at companies such as Grupo Aposta Ganha, RCT Gaming, and Prohards.

His primary focus is on strengthening institutional engagement with public authorities, regulatory bodies, and strategic partners. Baungartner will also evaluate merger and acquisition opportunities (M&A) to further expand the Esportes Gaming Brasil group in Brazil.
