BP's Manager Ina Kamps promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Tennet Germany

Ina Kamps, a seasoned professional with a background in energy management, has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TenneT Germany, effective from December 1, 2025. This appointment marks the completion of the management team for TenneT Germany, the largest German transmission system operator, as it prepares for a planned partial sale or Initial Public Offering (IPO) in September.

Kamps' role as COO will see her oversee the operational business of TenneT Germany, with a strong focus on grid expansion, both onshore and offshore, network maintenance and operation, and safety management. This appointment comes as part of a wider organizational restructuring of the TenneT Group, which has split into two independent national organizations: TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany.

Kamps' previous experience as the head of offshore wind in Germany at BP positions her well for the challenges related to the expanding electricity grid and integration of renewable energy sources. This expertise is expected to be invaluable as TenneT Germany navigates its future, particularly in the context of the planned sale or IPO.

The state-owned Dutch parent company, TenneT, is the owner of TenneT Germany. The announcement of Kamps' appointment was made by TenneT on July 8. As COO, Kamps will be responsible for TenneT Germany's day-to-day operations, a responsibility that will undoubtedly require her extensive skills and experience.

TenneT Germany's operational business, under Kamps' oversight, will heavily involve energy management, with a specific focus on grid expansion and network maintenance, while integrating renewable sources. Kamps' appointment, following her time as head of offshore wind in Germany at BP, aligns closely with TenneT Germany's future plans, particularly in the lead-up to a potential industry-wide transformation through finance-driven events such as partial sale or Initial Public Offering (IPO).
