BMLL Increases Data Coverage in North America, Extending Reach to Canada
BMLL, an independent provider of harmonised, historical Level 3 data and analytics, has expanded its data coverage to include the stock market in Canada. This move aims to democratise access to Level 3 data and analytics and widen data coverage across global stock markets.
The expansion covers data from over 75 venues, in 3 asset classes, in 1 harmonised format. BMLL's data is now available from all major Canadian stock exchanges, including the Toronto Stock Exchange, Canadian Securities Exchange, CBOE Canada, Nasdaq Canada, and Omega ATS.
Paul Humphrey, CEO of BMLL, announced the expansion, stating, "We are excited to bring our innovative data and analytics solutions to the Canadian stock market. Our mission is to provide the most granular data available to our clients, enabling them to gain a global view of stock market behavior."
BMLL Level 3 Data captures every insert, modify, execute or delete order book message at a T+1 basis at tick level granularity. This level of detail allows clients to benefit from the most granular data available, aiding them in understanding stock market behavior across jurisdictions.
The demand for high-quality historic stock market data has grown exponentially as stock market participants need to understand stock market behavior across jurisdictions. With the expansion into Canada, Canadian stock exchange operators can now analyze venue performance and liquidity dynamics, and perform venue comparisons against local and global peers.
BMLL's Series B financing, which secured USD 26 million, includes investments from Nasdaq Ventures, FactSet, IQ Capital's Growth Fund, and most recently Snowflake Ventures. The specific participating institutions in the Series B financing are not listed in the provided search results.
Over the last 12 months, BMLL has added stock market data from various global markets, including Aquis Stock Exchange, CBOE Japan, Japannext, Singapore Exchange, Cboe Europe Indices, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Australia stock market data from ASX and Cboe Australia, FINRA in the US, and South Africa including JSE and A2X.
BMLL's clients, which include banks, brokers, asset managers, hedge funds, global exchange groups, academic institutions, and regulators, now have access to the most granular Level 3, T+1 order book data on a global stock market scale, as well as advanced pre-and post-trade analytics.
This expansion complements BMLL's existing US Equities and ETF coverage, the recent addition of US FINRA ATS/OTC Volumes data, and the addition of data from the Brazil Stock Exchange (B3) in November 2023. As BMLL continues to expand its stock market data coverage, it remains committed to its mission of democratising access to Level 3 data and analytics and widening data coverage across global stock markets.
