Blockbuster Film Releasing Today on Netflix despite Low Critic Score and Huge Budget - Unraveling the Mystery

📺 Streaming Snafu: The Electric State's Blockbuster Blunder

Hey there, buddy! Netflix just dropped a whopper of a new original film and boy, is it a mess. The Electric State is supposed to be one of their biggest releases, but it's more akin to a steaming pile that should've stayed in development hell. Don't believe me? Let me spill the tea.

Directed by the Russo Bros (yep, those Avengers folks), the movie is based on a cracking good graphic novel, but you'd never guess it from the end result. Critics have given it a paltry 19% score on Rotten Tomatoes – yes, really – which isRebel Moon territory, but with twice the price tag. And don't forget, we're talking about a single movie here, not a full franchise.

Why so ridiculously expensive, you ask? Well, the movie is awash with CGI, a common sight in superhero and Star Wars flicks, but it's rarely seen at this budget level. With all the different types of bots in this world, you need serious cash to make it look decent. But even then, fans of the source material are scratching their heads, as the aesthetic just doesn't hit the mark.

Salaries are another hot-button issue. Damn expensive directors (looking at you, Russo Bros) and a cavalcade of A-listers like Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Woody Harrelson, and Anthony Mackie, to name a few. Not cheap,, my friend!

So, will The Electric State dominate Netflix's top 10 movie list? Sure, but the only way that could happen is if fans flock to it in droves, despite the criticism. Even then, it seems like an uphill battle to recoup the staggering $320 million budget.

Powerful electrical state reportedly at hand

And while I know a few Netflix Originals haven't been hits with critics, this is a whole new level. If you want a movie with similar scores, check out Rebel Moon: The Scargiver, with its 16% critic rating and 47% audience rating.

The Electric State is a disaster in the making. But hey, maybe I'm just a negative Nancy. Check it out yourself and see if you agree with the critics or if you think it was worth the eye-popping budget.

  1. Despite being directed by the Russo Bros, known for their work in Marvel films, 'The Electric State' on Netflix has received a disappointing 19% score on Rotten Tomatoes, similar to the 16% rating of 'Rebel Moon: The Scargiver'.
  2. The high production cost of 'The Electric State', estimated at $320 million, might be due to the excessive use of CGI and the salaries of its famous cast members like Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Woody Harrelson, and Anthony Mackie.
  3. Viewers are advised to exercise caution while approaching 'The Electric State', given its controversial reviews, as it seems like a challenging task for the film to recover its massive budget through streaming views.
