Biometric authentication rigorously enforcing, causing delays in cash transfer distribution in Nigeria
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has granted a contract worth approximately $130 million to Leidos, a technology and engineering solutions company. Specifically, the contract is valued at $129.7 million. The contract's duration is set for five and a half years.
The agreement pertains to the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) biometric services program. Leidos' services will focus on the expansion and maintenance of biometric services provided by CJIS. This move aims to bolster the FBI's biometric identification and information management capabilities for law enforcement and national security purposes.
Under the terms of the contract, Leidos will offer technological support to maintain and advance the CJIS Division's biometric infrastructure. This infrastructure plays a critical role in accurately and efficiently identifying individuals in criminal investigations. The contract was awarded in May 2025 and covers the CJIS Fast-Biometric Services program as well.
