Bielefeld Customs Finds 37 Irregularities in School Construction Site Inspection

Bielefeld Main Customs Office recently conducted an unscheduled inspection at the Martin Niemöller Comprehensive School construction site in Schildesche. The operation, involving around 40 officials, uncovered 37 cases of irregularities that require further investigation.

On October 1, 2025, officials from the Financial Controls Schwarzarbeit (FKS) units in Bielefeld and Herford questioned 58 workers employed by 13 different companies at the construction site.

The inspection revealed various violations. 31 cases involved failures to meet the immediate notification obligation for social security. Additionally, 3 cases each involved minimum wage violations and social benefit fraud. The affected companies, located outside the jurisdiction of the Bielefeld Main Customs Office, will have their cases handled by the respective competent main customs offices.

The unscheduled inspection at the Martin Niemöller Comprehensive School construction site has led to the discovery of 37 cases of irregularities. Further investigation is required to process these cases, which will be handled by the relevant main customs offices.
