Bavarian Brewery & Timber Firm Honored for Green Efforts
Neumarkter Lammsbräu, a Bavarian brewery, has been recognised for its exceptional environmental and climate protection efforts. In 2021, Bavarian State Secretary Tanja Schweiger presented them with the Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact Award. This prestigious honour, valid for three years, allows the brewery to use the official 'Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact' logo.
The Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact, established in 1995, is a collaborative initiative between the Bavarian State Government and business associations. It aims to promote sustainability and climate change protection. The pact's online platform, www.umweltpakt.bayern.de, offers practical examples, information, and funding guides for businesses.
Another recipient of this award is Aicher Holzbau GmbH, a timber construction company founded in 1983. Initially a sawmill, it has grown into a significant player in the industry. The company's commitment to using dry wood and wood-based materials for solidity, durability, and effective building protection has earned it recognition. In 2021, Bavarian State Secretary Tanja Schweiger awarded the company for its dedication to operational environmental and climate protection. Notably, this is not the first time Aicher Holzbau GmbH has received this honour, having previously been recognised in 2011.
Both Neumarkter Lammsbräu and Aicher Holzbau GmbH have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to environmental and climate protection. Their commitments not only align with the Bavarian Climate Protection Act's goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2040 but also contribute to global climate change goals.
