In the early hours of September 20, technical work carried out by the Bank Processing Center has caused potential disruptions in banking operations across five financial institutions in Belarus: Belarusbank, Belinvestbank, Technobank, Paritetbank, and Bank RBB. The exact duration of these disruptions remains unspecified.

The affected banks have issued warnings on their websites, advising clients to have cash on hand due to the potential interruptions. These disruptions may also impact self-service devices, networks of trade (service) organizations, and cash withdrawal points.

Despite these disruptions, Belarusians have continued to increase their daily spending compared to the previous year. In August 2024, the average checkout amount was Br26.6, and in August 2025, this figure rose to Br30. The total monthly spending for Belarusians, calculated by multiplying the August 2025 average by 30, is approximately Br900.

The increase in spending is observed in stores, cafes, restaurants, and other places. Interestingly, in August 2024, there was no mention of potential disruptions in card services or banking operations.

It is essential to note that the Bank Processing Center is responsible for the technical work causing the disruptions. Belarusian banks have also alerted clients about potential interruptions in card services.

As the situation develops, it is advisable for clients to monitor updates from their respective banks and adjust their financial plans accordingly.
