Bamberg Service to Renovate Wildensorger Hauptstraße in September
Bamberg Service is set to renovate Wildensorger Hauptstraße in mid-September, with a two-pronged approach to improve the road's longevity and safety. The project will involve temporary bus detours and partial road closures.
The renovation will combine two established methods: first, a thin layer of asphalt will be applied in cold construction, followed by a 14-day wait before spraying with a binder and covering with stone chippings. This technique allows the new surface to absorb material movements, reducing cracking and increasing stress resistance.
During the work, buses on route 910 will detour via the Münchner Ring between 8 am and 5 pm. This route change is particularly beneficial around the Altenburg area, known for its regular landslides. Pedestrians can still pass through the construction area, and Bamberg Service will coordinate traffic for the Wildensorg-Domschule school bus and local residents.
Full closures are required for two days each on September 17/18 and September 30/October 1, 2025, from 8 am to 5 pm. Traffic will be rerouted via Münchner Ring, Buger Straße, Würzburger Straße, Kaulberg, Karmelitenplatz, Maternstraße, Jakobsberg, Wildensorger Straße, Am Bundleshof, and St.-Getreu-Straße (and vice versa).
The renovation of Wildensorger Hauptstraße is expected to enhance the road's durability and safety. With careful planning and coordination, Bamberg Service aims to minimize disruption to bus services and local residents during the construction period.
