"Bakery Express holds a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its latest locale in Florence, creating a total of 225 job opportunities within the region"
In a significant development for the food and flavoring industry in Northern Kentucky, Bakery Express Midwest has opened a new 50,000-square-foot facility in Boone County. The new location, which marks the expansion of the company into the region, was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Gov. Beshear on Monday.
This new commercial bakery manufacturing company is a more-than-$20 million investment, according to Lee Crume, CEO of BE NKY Growth Partnership. Gov. Beshear congratulated Bakery Express Midwest on this significant milestone, stating that it will contribute to the economic momentum across Kentucky.
The product line of Bakery Express Midwest consists of a wide variety of items including donuts, muffins, cookies, brownies, croissants, bagels, pastries, cupcakes, and other specialty items. The new location will serve Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Tennessee with fresh baked goods.
Bakery Express Midwest is one of the several companies established by Charles Burman, with Bakery Express Mid-Atlantic Inc., founded in 1970, being one of them. The company's expansion into Boone County will create over 225 full-time jobs in the region.
The project was first announced by Bakery Express Midwest in June 2023, and the facility broke ground in January 2024. For more information about Bakery Express Midwest, visit BakeryExpressUSA.com.

Bakery Express companies currently employ 620 people in total, and with the new Boone County location, they collectively serve over 4,000 retail outlets across the United States. This includes Bakery Express of Central Florida, Bakery Express of Central Texas, Bakery Express of Southern California, and Bakery Express Midwest.
The new operation in Boone County is expected to contribute to the economic momentum across Kentucky, providing a boost to the local economy and creating opportunities for the community.
