BAE Systems to Cut 116 Management Jobs in Naval Ships Division
BAE Systems has revealed plans to reduce up to 116 management roles in its Naval Ships business. The move, announced by Managing Director Sir Simon Lister, is part of a broader effort to modernise the company's naval operations. This represents around 15% of management roles in the division.
The announcement comes on the heels of BAE securing a significant £10 billion contract to build anti-submarine frigates for Norway on the Clyde. Despite the management cuts, shop-floor and production staff will not be affected. BAE Systems will engage with employee representative groups to support colleagues impacted by the changes and explore potential opportunities within the company.
The reduction in management roles is part of BAE's ongoing efforts to streamline its naval operations and ensure the company remains competitive. The changes are expected to have no impact on the recent £10 billion frigate deal or the wider workforce.
