Affordable New Arrival: Chery Tiggo 4 Sets to Be Among the Most Economical New Vehicles Available on the Market in NZ
Chinese Car Brand Chery Launches Affordable Tiggo 4 SUV in New Zealand
Chinese car manufacturer Chery is set to launch its Tiggo 4 compact SUV in New Zealand in July, marking the brand's entry into the local market. The Tiggo 4 will be available in two versions: Urban and Ultimate, with the Urban version priced at $24,990 (plus on-road costs).
The Tiggo 4 Urban comes equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 108kW/210Nm of power. It features LED lights front and rear, dual 10.25-inch screens inside, wireless phone projection, voice assistant, 7 airbags, reversing camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system. The vehicle also boasts 17-inch alloy wheels.
For those seeking additional features, the Tiggo 4 Ultimate offers 18-inch wheels, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera, upgraded upholstery with heated front seats, a power sunroof, ambient lighting, power-fold mirrors, and remote opening/closing for the windows.
Following the launch of the Tiggo 4, Chery will introduce larger models, the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, in New Zealand. The Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 models will feature Super Hybrid technology.
In terms of competition, the Suzuki Ignis, if considered an SUV, has a lower price than the Tiggo 4 Urban, but only for the manual version. The automatic version of the Suzuki Ignis starts at the same price as the Tiggo 4 Urban. However, the previous-generation MG3 hatch, 3rd-gen Suzuki Swift GL, and Kia Picanto GT Line are cheaper than the Tiggo 4 Urban.
Chery, the parent brand of Omoda and Jaecoo, was founded by Wu Jianping. The company has made a name for itself in the global automotive industry and is now setting its sights on the New Zealand market.
With the Tiggo 4 Urban offering a host of features at an affordable price, it is one of the cheapest new vehicles on sale in New Zealand. This makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers looking for a reliable and feature-rich compact SUV.
As Chery prepares to launch the Tiggo 4, car enthusiasts and budget-conscious buyers alike are eagerly anticipating the arrival of this new player in the New Zealand automotive market. With the promise of more models to come, including the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 with Super Hybrid technology, it seems that Chery is poised to make a significant impact.
