Advisory provided by our law firm to co-investors collaborating with Blackstone on a CDN$7 billion equity investment in Rogers Communications Inc.

White & Case LLP, a global law firm, has advised co-investors in a significant CDN$7 billion equity investment in Rogers Communications Inc., Canada's leading communications and entertainment company.

The transaction was led by three partners from the White & Case team. Nadav Klugman, a Project Development and Finance specialist based in Chicago, took the helm. M&A partner Adam Cieply, who specializes in Mergers & Acquisitions, Financial Restructuring and Insolvency, Private Capital, Financial Institutions, Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation & Logistics, and is based in New York, also played a key role. Capital Markets partner Andrew Weisberg, another New York-based expert in Capital Markets, Latin America, Financial Restructuring and Insolvency, Financial Institutions, Mining & Metals, Energy, was also part of the team.

The White & Case team also included Debt Finance partner Kerrick Seay and counsel Abigail Simon, both based in New York. Seay specializes in Debt Finance, Bank Lending, Private Credit & Direct Lending, Technology, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Fund Finance, while Simon's expertise lies in Capital Markets and M&A. Dilara Erik, an M&A associate specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Capital, Energy, Power, Infrastructure, Transportation & Logistics, and based in New York, was also a valuable member of the team.

The investment will see Blackstone acquire a non-controlling interest in a new Canadian subsidiary of Rogers. This subsidiary will own Rogers' wireless backhaul transport infrastructure in Ontario and Alberta.

The co-investors in this deal, apart from Blackstone, include the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.

Tony Staffieri, the CEO of Rogers Communications Inc., has been confirmed as the CEO of the company involved in the transaction. The search results do not specify the CEOs of the other companies involved.
