69% of Canadians Prioritize Summer Vacation for Work-Life Balance

A recent survey reveals that 69% of Canadian workers plan to take a vacation this summer, with 41% opting for local destinations. This highlights the importance Canadians place on work-life balance, which they prioritize above recognition, compensation, and career growth.

The national Work Happiness Score remains steady at 6.8/10, indicating Canadians' commitment to their priorities at work. Regionally, Sask./Manitoba and Atlantic Canada lead with 7.1/10, while Alberta has the lowest score at 6.4/10.

Boomers value work-life balance the most, scoring it 7.4/10. This suggests that maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucial for employee retention, particularly among older workers. Interestingly, Gen-Z's Work Happiness Score is 7.0/10, slightly higher than Millennials' 6.8/10 and Gen-X's 6.6/10.

The survey underscores the importance of work-life balance for Canadian workers, with boomers leading the way in prioritizing it. As summer approaches, many Canadians plan to take time off, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life.
