Subaru has equipped the hybrid model with a 2.5L boxer engine paired with electric motors, offering a total output of 194 horsepower. This hybrid setup is similar to that found in the Forester Hybrid, which delivers a commendable 35 mpg combined fuel economy. Although Subaru has yet to release exact figures for city and highway fuel consumption, they estimate that the Crosstrek Hybrid will achieve around 35 mpg combined, marking a significant improvement of approximately 20-33% over the gas-only Crosstrek model, which typically achieves around 28-29 mpg combined.

The hybrid trims available for the 2026 Crosstrek Hybrid are the Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid, priced slightly higher than their gas-only counterparts due to the added hybrid system. The Sport Hybrid comes with a power moonroof, hybrid-exclusive wheels, and a 10-way power-adjust driver's seat, while the Limited Hybrid features exclusive 18-inch wheels, gray StarTex seats with orange stitching, and a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo.

In terms of pricing, the base model of the 2026 Crosstrek will see a $1,000 increase from last year's model, starting at $27,995. The Premium, Sport, and Limited gas-only models will cost $26,645, $30,625, and $32,995 respectively. The Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid will be priced at $33,795 and $35,995 respectively, with the hybrid option raising the price of the Sport by $3,370 and the Limited by $2,000.

Interestingly, the gas-only models of the 2026 Subaru Crosstrek will be built at Subaru's plant in Indiana, while the hybrids will be imported from Japan.

Standard features for the 2026 Crosstrek include rear seat airbags and keyless access, with the Limited model also boasting a heated steering wheel and Subaru's DriverFocus distraction mitigation system.

The 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid is poised to be a more economical and powerful choice, offering improved fuel efficiency and a boost in power compared to its gas-only counterpart. With its anticipated arrival in the fall of 2025, Subaru enthusiasts and environmentally-conscious consumers alike have much to look forward to.
