14th IFESD Forum Kicks Off in Skopje to Drive Sustainable Energy Goals
The Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, in collaboration with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and five regional UN commissions, is hosting the 14th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development (14-IFESD) in Skopje, North Macedonia from October 28 to 30. Over 300 officials, policymakers, and experts are expected to attend.
The event, held at the Hotel Holiday Inn Skopje, follows last year's conference in Bangkok. It aims to serve as a platform for shaping strategies to accelerate progress towards global sustainable energy goals. Key topics include energy connectivity, security, a just energy transition, international cooperation, and the implementation of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Day one features a segment dedicated to opportunities for mitigating methane emissions from the coal sector. Notable speakers include Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Božinovska, Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski, and Minister of Energy and Mining of Montenegro Admir Šahmanović.
The 14-IFESD in Skopje brings together a diverse range of stakeholders to discuss and plan for a sustainable energy future. With its focus on key topics and high-profile speakers, the forum is expected to yield valuable insights and actionable strategies.
